A snippet of our flashback for our short film - Candice Tyson

  • Here is a snippet of us filming part of our breakfast scene for a flashback we are planning to use in our short film.
  • The biggest problem we had with filming this scene at the beginning was lighting as we were filming mid-day and however we needed it to look like it was morning. We had a look at the curtains and had to consider how they may appear in a morning setting. We then played with the lighting until we felt the scene appeared to be set in the morning to fit the rest of the mis en scene, for example costume.
  • When filming the point of view shots we had to consider the height of the camera. This was so we could make it obvious to our audience that it is a point of view shot as there is quite a difference between the height of our actors. This was something that couldn't be ignored or forgotten.
  • Lastly, our last issue was sound. A number of our shots we had to repeat as our actors weren't speaking loud enough. However this was easy to repeat and wasn't too time consuming.
Screen grabs from final film of this scene:

  1. You can improve this post once you have edited the film - maybe show the actual footage itself as affected by this.
